Gaucin is now twenty five minutes drive from the new Estepona – Guadiaro motorway intersection at Manilva and, whilst retaining all its local charm, has become the most developed of the inland villages. There are some lovely refurbished village houses and larger country houses outside the village built by foreign residents, mainly over the last fifteen years. The village of Gaucin itself has sensational views to the south and over the Mediterranean Sea to North Africa.
